Kids (BIG or little) Airport Scavenger Hunt

Nothing forces creativity quite like a four and a half hour layover…with two kids…on Christmas Day. So to pass the time we came up with a family-friendly airport scavenger hunt that will distract kids from devices (I mean, momentarily at least) and encourage the entire family to take in their surroundings. Keep this list in your back pocket for your next airport adventure:

  • Look for a food that starts with the same letter as the place you are traveling.
  • How many different color suitcases can you find?
  • Find a family with at least three children (it can’t be your own!).
  • Look at the arrivals and departures boards–what is the furthest place a plane is traveling?
  • Do one random act of kindness.
  • Look outside for planes from three different airlines.
  • Locate a flight that is traveling north, one traveling south, one traveling east and one traveling west of the location you are in.
  • Try to find a sign that is written in a different language.
  • Find a gate where there is a plane traveling to another country.
  • Look for a person who is drinking each of the following: water, coffee, milk, juice and soda.
  • Locate five people who are wearing hats.
  • Look for a person doing each of the following: reading a book, usingtheir phone or tablet, listening to music and writing.
  • Spot one person who is laughing.
  • Look for someone who serves in the military and thank them for their service.
  • Find someone who is traveling with a pet. Bonus points if you can find a cat and a dog!

How many did you get? See if you can beat it the next time you go expLAURing!
